A Touch of Elegance with the Scented Candles Collection Rosenthal meets Versace
Looking to bring a tiny touch of European design to your home? The new Scented Candles collection Rosenthal meets Versace is a series of iconic decorative objects perfect for adding a touch of refinement and sophisticated lavishness to your space.
Just as its name suggests, the collection brings together two iconic names. For well over a century the German porcelain creations of Rosenthal have signified sought-after craftsmanship and design translating into a brand which has become timeless. While the Italian luxury fashion brand Versace, founded in 1978, has become synonymous with bold and elite ready-to-wear styles. Its founder, Gianni Versace, was known for his ability to infuse fashion with life and art, and the brandʼs iconic motifs are a nod to the Italian barroque art and Grecian and Etruscan symbols which surrounded the area in Calabria where he grew up.
The collection is comprised of eight elegant candles inspired by the most famous of Versaceʼs motifs: Medusa Gala, Vanity, Medusa, Le Jardin de Versace, Les Étoiles de la Mer, La Scala del Palazzo, Prestige Gala and I Baroque. The candles, made with natural wax, are perfumed with heady fragrances and burn for over 60 hours.
A perfect way to add a pop of color and a bit of glamour, the candle collection merges carefully crafted and finished porcelain with the unique baroque iconography of Versace motifs where neoclassical symbols alternate with antique elements and references to mythological figures evoking a fantasy universe of imaginary scenes. As Gianni Versace once said of his inspiration for the motifs, “When you are born in a place such as Calabria and there is beauty all around a Roman bath, a Greek remain, you cannot help but be influenced by the classical past.”
