Lovers of Nebbiolo who find themselves in Rome this coming 18th-19th January, take note.  The Radisson Blu Hotel will be hosting a two-day event celebrating the king of Italian wine varietals, Nebbiolo, with its VII edition of Nebbiolo nel Cuore 2020. Set in this elegant hotel and organized by Riserva Grande, the kermis is an exploration of the forms, history and characteristics of this special red from Piedmont, in the north of Italy.

The event will dedicate two days exclusively to this noble wine in its various forms.  Included in the weekend will be tastings and notes on wines such as: Barolo and Barbaresco, Roero, Gattinara and Ghemme, Boca and Lessona, Bramaterra and Carema, Fara and Valli Ossolane, Colline Novaresi and Coste della Sesia, Valle d’Aosta and Valtellina, along with other lesser-known varieties from the area.

Dedicated to promoting both the grapes and their native lands in Piedmont, Nebbiolo nel Cuore will concentrate on giving those who are curious about this famous red a chance to get to know this region of Italian winemaking, a territory which is particularly connected to the distinct terroirs which characterize its wines.  Throughout the two days, visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the diverse forms of Nebbiolo at the various tasting stands and through a selection of tasting seminars focused on delving into Nebbiolo’s unique terroir. A few of the seminars available include: “I Nebbioli Figli del Fuoco. Il Supervulcano che ha Reso Unico l’Alto Piemonte” (Nebbiolo Children of Fire.  The Super-Volcano Which Made the Highlands of Piemonte so Unique) curated by Edoardo Dellarole, President of Sesia Val Grande UNESCO Global Geopark, and Andrea Petrinio; “Nebbiolo d'Alba Spumante 1970” dedicated to the 50 years of history of Italy’s third spumante DOC; “18 Sfumature di Nebbiolo. Degustazione in Blind Tasting” a blind tasting of 18 types of Nebbiolo; and the not-to-be-missed vertical tasting “Barolo Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe Riserva Docg Cantina Cavallotto.”
